DIY School Valentines

February 11, 2011

One thing I am lacking is being able to use graphics, illustrator, & photoshop beyond adding a title to a photo.  I want to learn!  I am so impressed with all the people who can make these adorable cards and valentines pintables are where you really see them shine!  Did you all see this round up by TheLongThread?  So great!  I found mine through OnePrettyThing.  These DIY School Valentines are called Sweetheart Valentine’s Day Cards by BunnyCakes.  Thank you BunnyCakes!

Then I used Noodlehead’s recent valentine tutorial to add vellum to the back and included candy conversation hearts for the school valentines! This tutorial was so easy to follow and perfect for my DIY School Valentines!

While I worked on the DIY school Valentines, I set up my computer next to my sewing machine and watched an episode of Downtown Abbey on Netflix since this was pretty mindless sewing.  Love Downtown Abbey!  Except, why all the hanging story lines in the end?  Is there going to be a Downtown Abbey 2 or what?!

I made 21 for Elsie’s class and 12 for Anne’s preschool class.  Anne helped me stuff the candies until she got distracted by buttons on the floor. I just loved to spend time with her in my sewing room because I feel like they’re always off at school now!  This was a cute project! Not too fussy or complicated but still handmade and I love that!
