Last Day at the Farm & Doll Dress Winner

February 12, 2010

Today is our last day living here at Grandma Betty's house.  She is my husband's 88 year old grandma.  I am so excited about having my own house again but these past 19 months have been an adventure.  Many ups and downs!  I am so grateful for her hospitality and I learned so much about living, aging, patience, humility, and how you really can live in 2 rooms with a husband and 3 kids without killing each other. It was perfect farm living- seeing all the beauty of the farm without having to do any farm work!!!!  Here are some pictures and memories of our time here…

Now for the winner of my little contest!  I asked my middle child who is obsessed with counting which number she liked best 1, 2, 3, or 4.  She said 4 because that's how old she is and that is how many pengiuns she has (the girl luvs stuffed animal penguins) in her bed.  SO commenter Katie will get the dress.  Very scientific selecting.  I liked doing it though so maybe once I get settled in the new house we'll try again.  thanks so much for your comments ladies!!

Awhile ago I created some yellow scrap fabric yardage and showed you all my method over on THIS youtube video.  At the time I wasn't sure what to do with that piece.  Maybe another pillow?  Make it larger to make a baby quilt?  I finally decided on a new set of hot...
